HELEN GANYA I WILL HOLD THAT HAND FOR YOU

We've been attentively following the progress of Brighton-based musician Helen Ganya since her Dog In The Snow Days. Heading towards her new album polish the machine, due out on the 18th of November through Bella Union, 'i will hold that hand for you' is a reassuring new snippet of things to come. Inspired by sculptor Harriet Hosmer and her piece Clasped Hands of Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, this shiny piece of perfectly-formed synth pop attempts to find connection in an increasingly isolating social landscape. She explains: "What we aspire to is to have human connection...I was drawn to this idea of setting the truth of something before it collapses. Setting this connection in stone." Accompanied by a sparkling video directed Sapphire Goss, which fuses natural and digital imagery effortlessly, 'i will hold that hand for you' is a cleansing audio-visual experience. -Holly Mullineaux
